What Is Pool Plumbing?
- Pool plumbing is the essential network of pipes and components that circulates and filters the water in your Orange County pool. This intricate system works behind the scenes to keep your pool clean, safe, and enjoyable. It typically includes a pump, filter, heater, and various valves and pipes that work together to draw water from the pool, remove debris, and return clean, sanitized water. Proper pool plumbing ensures efficient water flow, balanced chemical distribution, and optimal operation of features like waterfalls and jets. Whether you're building a new pool in Laguna Hills or renovating an existing pool in Yorba Linda, Sanctuary Design & Build has the expertise to design and install a reliable and efficient pool plumbing system.

Phase 1: Underground Plumbing Layout and Trenching for New Pools in Orange County
This crucial first phase focuses on planning the underground plumbing layout and excavating the necessary trenches for your new pool in Orange County. As part of our Sanctuary Sequence, the plumbing design has already been finalized in our Sanctuary Studio. This essential preparation for new pool construction includes:
-
Layout and Marking: We carefully mark the locations of all plumbing lines, including skimmer lines, main drains, return lines, and equipment pad connections. This layout is crucial for efficient water circulation and proper equipment function.
-
Trenching: We excavate trenches to the appropriate depth and width to accommodate the plumbing pipes. Proper trenching is essential for protecting the pipes and preventing damage.
-
Sleeving (If Necessary): Where pipes pass under concrete or other structures, we install protective sleeves to prevent damage from settling or shifting.

Phase 2: Installing Underground Plumbing for New Pool Construction in Orange County
This phase involves installing the underground plumbing pipes and making secure connections for your new pool in Orange County. This installation process, a vital part of any new pool construction project, includes:
-
Pipe Installation: We carefully install the plumbing pipes in the prepared trenches, ensuring proper slope for drainage and efficient water flow.
-
Fitting and Connections: We use appropriate fittings and connectors to join the pipes, ensuring all connections are watertight and secure. We use appropriate materials for underground plumbing to ensure durability.
-
Pressure Testing: We perform pressure tests on the installed plumbing lines to verify there are no leaks. This is a crucial step to prevent future problems and ensure the integrity of the plumbing system.

Phase 3: Connecting Plumbing to Equipment and Final Inspection for New Pools in Orange County
This final phase focuses on connecting the underground plumbing to the pool equipment (pump, filter, heater, etc.) and performing a final inspection to ensure the entire plumbing system is functioning correctly for your new Orange County pool. This thorough finishing process includes:
-
Equipment Pad Connections: We connect the underground plumbing lines to the pool equipment at the equipment pad.
-
Equipment Testing: We test all pool equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and that water is circulating properly through the plumbing system.
-
Backfilling Trenches: Once testing is complete, we carefully backfill the trenches, compacting the soil to prevent settling.
-
Final Inspection: We perform a final inspection of the entire plumbing system to ensure everything is installed correctly and meets all code requirements.
